Each public agency in San Diego has a GIS story.
How We Collaborate
Collaboration in San Diego's GIS community happens at many levels, with staff from all sectors participating in the quarterly meetings of the
San Diego Regional GIS Council (SDRGC) - held both in person and virtually. These meetings typically include:
- Updates from regional leaders such as SanGIS, SANDAG, USGS, CalURISA, ESRI, and others.
- Reports from internal working groups like the San Diego Regional GIS Managers Working Group, which also hosts quarterly meetings and social
events to foster networking and knowledge sharing.
- Presentations by local, state, federal, and educational institutions on current projects and applications of GIS.
- Group discussions on shared challenges and emerging trends in software, hardware, legislation, staffing, and skills development.
